What kind of meals do you prepare?
Each menu we prepare, is a customized menu, based on a client’s likes and dislikes. I have to our disposal hundreds of recipes covering cuisines like traditional and healthy Indian, Indian fusion, American, Chinese, Italian, Mexican, vegetarian and vegan, home-style to name a few. I personalize each individual recipe to your individual tastes.
Will all meals be frozen?
It really depends on the size of the service. I cook food that stores really well. If you plan to be home for the first 3 days of your service, then I refrigerate a couple of entrees. The remaining will be frozen which will last you longer and become more cost-effective. When you heat one of my frozen (or refrigerated) meal, it will taste as if I just finished preparing it.
Do you have to cook the food in my home? Can’t you just cook the food somewhere else and deliver it?
Health Department regulations require a Personal Chef to prepare food in a client’s home or a commercial kitchen. As this is a personalized service, I like to prepare our client’s food in their home.
How do I prepare my kitchen for your cook day?
It’s the most easiest thing that you need to do for me. Clear your kitchen counters, empty sink and create ample room in your refrigerator and freezer.
Do I have to provide containers?
No, this really depends on the storage containers that you already have. But I will be happy to assist you to purchase them before your service or provide them myself (for a nominal additional amount).
Do I have to give you access (key) to my home?
This is your decision. If you decide not to give me access/ key, then I will have this in mind while scheduling your cook day and accommodate it.
Can I afford your service?
Heartycooksroom is a reasonably priced service for those looking to eat healthy. It’s not just about meals:
- I save you time spent in grocery shopping, planning, prepping, cooking and cleaning each night. If you add up these hours, it would range anywhere between 8-10 hours a week!
- I also assist you in reducing the grocery wastage. Situations where you end up buying too much food, don’t know what to do with it and throw it away too quickly.
How do I pay you?
For the first service, you will pay in advance (cash/ check/ direct account deposit), the service fee in full. This will ideally be the day we decide on the cook day. The groceries reimbursement will be on the cook day. For the next/ subsequent services, simply leave a check (or cash) on the kitchen counter on the cook day. Or direct account deposit is easy and works.
