A member of United States Personal Chef Association (USPCA), certified from Culinary Business Institute and a certified ‘Safe Food Handler’, as a Personal Chef, I want to pursue and share my passion for cooking and food with others.
A ‘foodie’ by nature, Masters in Microbiology, a corporate stint of 7 years and relocation to the US. My love affair with food goes a long way. I can go great distances to eat good food.
People who know me, also know that the only way to her heart actually is through her stomach.
So where does cooking fit in? Well, there are a few things apart from wine, that only gets better with time. For me it was my skill and knowledge of cooking.
Cooking is something that comes naturally to me. Thanks to My Master Chef Mom, playing with ingredients and spices has always been my favorite hobby. In a matter of few years, my hobby became my passion.
Making basic Indian curries and working with ingredients and spices was always something I did as a kid. Acted as a Sous Chef for my Master chef Mom for most of my young life. In the process, learnt a lot while assisting her. She was my “Guru” in the culinary world. From basic knife skills to flavor combinations to gourmet meals, she taught me all.
In no time, cooking became my stress buster while I was doing my Masters and later on, while working! When one day, Mom left us suddenly, I realized that I still have her fond memories in the “Kitchen” and the cooking skills that she “Gifted” me. This was when I knew that my stress buster is much more than that…it’s my passion!
I wanted to share my passion with the world and turned a new leaf, when I started my own food blog, “Heartycooksroom” (Healthy Kitchen). This is “my virtual home”, where I share my recipes, ingredient knowledge and at the same time connect with people.
Moving from virtual space to real life, I also wanted to share my passion and the knowledge and skills passed on from my Mom and my love for food with the others. Hence, here I am, yet again on a new and exciting journey of being a ‘Personal Chef’.
